Who are we?

So who are we? Well, set in the beautiful countryside of Yucatan state sits Hacienda Cuch-Balam. A beautiful, old colonial property surrounded by old fields of Hennequin, it's been beautifully restored using a mix of modern design and local materials making it the ONLY hacienda of it's kind. We decided that wouldn´t it be fantastic to have a guest house/hotel that is 100% sustainable and not a shack in the woods…and that's what we did. We have our own solar panel system, recycling water tanks and grow our own organic produce amongst other great little details all to make your stay with us happy, relaxing and gives you a holiday with NO carbon footprint without you even thinking about it….great huh?!? We have 2 ensuite modern design cabanas for you to stay in, each with their own private garden and outside inside living.

Hacienda Cuch-Balam is 10 minutes from the beautiful Cenotes of Cuzama, one of the most popular tourist attractions in the state of Yucatan and we have to say a must, and 25 minutes from Mayapan, a smaller yet very important version of Chichen Itza and only 15minutes from the recently opened bike route of Sabacché….
We're surrounded by amazing nature, wildlife and we've even spotted panthers, deer and over 41 species of birds.

Merida, a beautiful colonial city is only an hour away and with easy flight connections to the States, Canada and Europe Hacienda Cuch-Balam could not be located in a better area. Several Mayan  ruins, Chichen Itza, Mayapan, Uxmal to name a few, sit within easy travelling distance as well as other tourist attractions such as Celestun, Rio Lagartos and Campeche.

So come stay with us and experience the amazing beauty of the Yucatan in style whilst being eco-friendly.

  1. This is a truly stunning and unique property set in beautiful countryside. The building has been lovingly restored to a modern standard but retains it's traditional features and a strong feeling of heritage. No one has lived until they have stayed here overnight and sat under the arches of the outside patio looking at a canopy of stars and a darkness illuminated by the flashes of a thousand fireflies. Can't wait to revisit!!! Thanks a million!

  2. Hi Jette! Liz P sent me your link, and I've posted it onto my blog, so hopefully you will have been getting some hits... One comment, which I second, is that you do not have enough photos on here. Would love to get more of an idea what the Hacienda and surroundings actually look like... Good luck!
